Blair County Probate Court Records Fee Schedule

Blair County uses a tiered fee structure based on the gross value of the estate. Estates valued at under $1,000 carry a $30.00 filing fee. Estates from $1,001 to $5,000 are $40.00. From $5,001 to $10,000 the fee is $50.00. Estates from $10,001 to $20,000 cost $60.00 to file. The $50,001 to $75,000 range carries a $100.00 fee. Estates from $75,001 to $100,000 are $110.00.

In addition to the estate filing fee, a Judicial Computer System fee of $41.25 is added to most petitions. Short certificates are $5.00 each. Renunciation fees are $10.00 per signature. When multiple renunciations are needed, these fees add up, so it is useful to plan for them in advance.

A Small Estate Petition is available for estates valued at $50,000 or less, excluding real estate. This simplified process avoids full administration and is faster than the standard estate procedure. The Unified Judicial System Portal can be used to check docket status for Blair County Orphans' Court proceedings.

Note: Blair County's Small Estate threshold of $50,000 excludes real property, so families with modest personal property may qualify even if there is a home involved in the estate.
